Screen Prints

David was born in Macclesfield, Cheshire, UK, in 1933. He now lives in Frigiliana, Malaga, Spain.

Almonds, olives, the cultivated land and profiles of mountains are the main "figures" in David Kenning's landscapes. His watercolours are free and flowing and much of his subject matter inspired by the Spain he loves and where he now lives.
He was a pupil of the English landscape painter Frederick Gore R.A. at St. Martin's School of Art, London from 1952 to 1955. Between 1957 and 1970 David Kenning worked as a Graphic Designer and Art Director with various editorials, including The Readers Digest and The Times Newspaper. He also taught at Southend College of Art and Technology between 1970 and 1988.
His first screenprint, "Bar La Parada," was commissioned by the Coriander Press in 1987, and since that time he has built up a portfolio of Spanish and English screenprints.
